2023 AOST & AODS Selection

The Australian International Optimist Dinghy Association (AIODA) has finalised its selections for the Australian Optimist Sailing Team (AOST) and Australian Optimist Development Squad (AODS) for 2023.

Sailors qualify for the AOST & AODS from competing at the Australian Optimist Championship.

Murray Duthie and Thomas Cooper have both qualified and been selected for the AOST. They will both attend a training camp in Melbourne during April.

Murray has been selected to compete at the 2023 Optimist World Championship. This prestigious event will be in Costa Brava, Spain in June 2023.

Thomas has qualified to compete at the 2023 Optimist European Championship. This awesome event will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece in July 2023.

Congratulations Murray & Thomas on your AOST selection, what a fantastic opportunity for you both to represent Australia!

Nicholas Cooper and Orlando Ligovich have both been selected for the AODS. A training camp will be held in Sydney during April for both the junior and senior squad.

Nicholas has been selected to sail at the Singapore National Sailing Championship 2023, this event will be in September.

Orlando has been selected to compete at the Eastern Seaboard Regatta in Thailand during October.

Congratulations Nicholas and Orlando on your national selection to join the development squad and the chance to compete at these invitational regattas.
