WAIODA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The Western Australian International Optimist Dinghy Association (WAIODA) holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year to engage members in the governance and future planning of the association.
Purpose of the AGM
The AGM serves as a platform for WAIODA members to:
-
Receive updates on the association’s performance, including financial and operational reports.
-
Ask questions and provide feedback to the committee.
-
Elect or re-elect committee and sub-committee members.
-
Discuss strategic initiatives and upcoming events.
Importance of Member Involvement
WAIODA is a volunteer-run organisation, and its strength comes directly from the involvement of its members. By attending the AGM and taking on roles—whether on the committee or a sub-committee—you play a hands-on part in shaping junior sailing in Western Australia.
Your contribution could mean helping organise a regatta, coordinating training camps, or supporting families new to the sport. Every bit of help makes a difference—whether you're a seasoned sailor, a parent, or simply passionate about growing youth participation in sailing.
Getting involved is also a great way to connect with the community, share your skills, and ensure the association continues to thrive for the next generation of Optimist sailors.
Other Details
WAIODA is an inclusive organisation, and we warmly welcome all interested members of the sailing community to attend the AGM—please note, however, that only current WAIODA members are eligible to vote.
This event is an in-person event. There will be no hybrid meeting arrangements.
